Frank DeVito started his music career at the age of six on the accordian. He was taking lessons in Richmond, Indiana, and then traveling to Dayton, Ohio. He credits his love of Jazz and Big Band Swing to his father, who sat with him daily for his practice sessions as he learned all the old standards that his father and mother loved to dance to.
By the age of ten, Frank traveled Indiana with Jack's Xylophone Band. At fifteen, he was playing with local swing bands and young rock bands. His first recording experience was in the late 60's with Tommy Wills, "The Man With The Horn." In 1969 he traveled with DEE DEE and Bill, a Las Vegas show group, playing at the Saharah in Lake Tahoe, and The Frontier Casino in Las Vegas. In Las Vegas he performed in a line-up of such stars as comedian Jackie Leonard, singer Frank Sinatra Jr., Fats Domino, and Jazz legends Jonah Jones and Cozy Cole.
Returning to Richmond, he resumed his entertaining by commuting to Cincinnati six nights a week, playing at local supper clubs, including the Cincinnati Playboy Club. He continued entertaining at local bars and country clubs. The Dynamic Duo of Frank and Max Marty wer the "house band" at the Radisson Hotel in Richmond until 1992. From 1993 until the present, Frank has traveled to Florida during the winter months where he performed at the Sarasota Jazz Fest with the Chuck Parr Trio. He was featured in a Sarasota Concert Hall showcasing Frank along with six other jazz singers. He also did a gig on Carnival Cruise Lines and frequently plays the piano bars in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida.
Frank has also done some recording in recent years and now has a Jazz CD with the Chuck Parr Trio, a CD with his keyboard where he sings and plays Oldies and Classic Rock, and a Big Band CD in which he sings all the old Standards of Sinatra and Tony Bennett.
Frank currently is retiring from the tavern business and plans to resume the music career.
